Aurora Orchestra 34th Regular Concert

Sumida Triphony Hall, Main HallTokyo

For Japanese people, who have a history and culture of cherishing and appreciating the changing seasons, the "four seasons" are an indispensable "color of life" in our lives. The first piece we, the Aurora Orchestra, will perform at the New Year's concert will be Glazunov's ballet "The Four Seasons," a work that embodies such important sensibilities and infuses music with the colors of life. We hope you will enjoy this beautiful "musical picture scroll" that vividly depicts the four seasons of nature and life, beginning with a fantastic winter, celebrating the coming spring, celebrating a summer full of life, and rejoicing together in the harvest season of autumn.
The "Pathetique" symphony by Tchaikovsky is our second attempt to perform this work. Tchaikovsky ended his life shortly after writing this work, leaving us, the future generations, with a huge question mark that will never be solved, and departing into the far reaches of history. It is a masterpiece, a summit too difficult for ordinary people like us to reach, but we would like to put everything we have experienced, cultivated, and built up in our lives into this great mystery.
We look forward to welcoming you all at the Sumida Triphony Hall in Kinshicho on January 4, 2026, the opening day of the New Year.
