Kaori Kusakabe & Stamitz Quartet Chamber Music Concert Series 7 Unofficial
Songs of the Heart Echoing in the Distant Mountains - With the Treasures of Prague
2026/03/22(su.) 16:00 Starting
Ina City Lifelong Learning Center Nishizawa Inase Hall (Nagano)
The Stamitz Quartet, one of the leading quartets in the Czech Republic, and Kaori Kusakabe, a pianist from Ina Valley, will perform together for the seventh time. The clear acoustics of the Nishizawa Inase Hall will be filled with the passion of youth in "Piano Quintet No. 1" and the lyrical beauty of maturity in "Piano Quintet No. 2". Special appearances by Kazumi Tanaka and Rui Ohtori on violin will add color to the program, which will present the rich aroma of Czech folk music and the profound charm of chamber music spun by Prague's greatest treasures in all their glory.
Program
The two piano quintets (both in A major) that Dvořák wrote during his lifetime are twin masterpieces that contrast the passion of his youth and the lyricism of his maturity. The simple romance of the early work, Op. 5, and the folkloric maturity of the later work, Op. 81, speak of the composer's progress itself. The program of this concert will be centered on these two pieces.
