Philharmonic Ensemble Orchestra 79th Concert [50th Anniversary]

The 50th anniversary concert will feature Fumiaki Miura, the youngest ever winner of the Hanover International Competition, said to be the world's most difficult competition, at the age of 16. The orchestra will be conducted by Naoto Otomo, who has supported the orchestra's music making in the past. Since its formation in 1976, the Philharmonic Ensemble Orchestra (PEO) has performed at venues with excellent acoustics in Japan and abroad, based on the philosophy that "the hall is part of the instrument. The PEO has hosted concerts at Carnegie Hall (New York), the Vienna Musikverein, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, and in Japan at Suntory Hall and the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space, among others. In September 2026, they are scheduled to perform overseas in Brno, Czech Republic.
