Alexander Melnikov Piano Recital

What can a pianist offer in this turbulent world? Here is one answer.
The renowned pianist Alexander Melnikov will make his first appearance at Philia Hall in 16 years, since his last performance in 2009. During the past 16 years, his activities have become more and more varied, including chamber music with Isabelle Faust, Jean-Gian Kellas, and other greats, as well as his own projects in which he plays different instruments.
The program to be performed at the museum this time includes Schubert's "Wanderer Fantasy," Brahms' Fantasie Op.116, and half of Shostakovich's large-scale masterpiece "24 Preludes and Fugues," all masterpieces, and the combinations of these pieces are truly imaginative. The same work will be performed in combination with Schubert and Brahms this time, which will bring out different aspects of the same work.
