Profile of KatoShoji
KatoShoji is a music reading unit consisting of Ayumi Kato, a composer and pianist (born in Chiba Prefecture), and Maoko Shoji, a reciter (born in Nyuzen, Toyama Prefecture).

Since 2011, they have been creating works based on the works of Kenji Miyazawa under the concept of "Invisible Picture Books," and are known for their collaboration with various artists and their worldview woven by Kato's original music and Shoji's deep voice.

He was the opening act at the Kenji Miyazawa Award and Ihatove Award Ceremony held in Hanamaki City in September 2015 (the 2015 Ihatove Award winner was director Isao Takahata), and continues to perform actively at the annual Kenji Seminar held at elementary and junior high schools in Hanamaki City. In 2020, under the overall supervision of Goro Yasukawa, a theatrical accompaniment composer (winner of the 35th Japan Academy Prize for Best Music for "The Cicada of the Eighth Day" in 2012), he will release Japan's first sound recording of Kenji Miyazawa's "Hikari no Sodashi" ("Barefoot in the Light"), a reading album.
