'Now Revived! An Epic Russian Heroic Tale"

For this subscription concert, we have chosen a program that depicts the heroic, lyrical, and exotic worlds of Russia and Eastern Europe!
The overture to the opera "The Chinese Official's Son" by Cui, one of the Russian quintet, opens the program. A light and humorous melody opens the program.
The next piece, Arutyunian Trumpet Concerto, invites Mr. Jin Ueda as the soloist! Mr. Jin Ueda will fully express the melancholy of the Armenian folk song!
The second half of the concert will be Glière's epic work, Symphony No. 3 "Ilya Mouroumets," a magnificent tale of over 80 minutes depicting the tumultuous life of the 10th century Russian hero Ilya. Based on a Russian fairy tale (Vuilina), Glière's masterpiece interweaves various themes, including the Znameni Chant. With its profound orchestration and vivid imagery, this is truly a "heroic tale told with sound. The essence of Russian music is brought back to life here.
We hope you will come to the concert.
