This is a recital-style concert featuring contrabassist Akira Shimokawa and pianist Satoko Niibori. In addition to a rare program of Bach's Suite No. 1 for Unaccompanied Cello and Mozart's Sonata in a contrabass version, the rich expressiveness and skill of the bass instrument will be fully appreciated in Hindemith's Sonata and Bottegini's Concerto (for piano accompaniment).
