Ukraine's up-and-coming ballet company visits Japan for the first time!

The program this time is the winter masterpiece ballet "The Nutcracker," which depicts the adventure of a young girl's one-night dream set on Christmas Eve. Expectations are high for the skills of Sergiy Sidorsky, former principal of the Ukrainian National Ballet, who will serve as artistic director.

Kyiv Grand Ballet Theatre
Established in 2014, Kyiv Grand Ballet Theatre will be led by Tetyana Hollyakova, former principal dancer of the Ukrainian National Opera Ballet, who will assume the position of artistic director in 2025. The company is led by Ukrainian ballet dancers, and its main activity is touring performances to countries around the world. Countries visited so far include the United States, France, Germany, China, Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, Norway, Belgium, Sweden, Chile, and many others. Her major production repertoire includes "Don Quixote," "Giselle," "Snow White," "Carmen Suite," "Swan Lake," "The Nutcracker," and "The Sleeping Beauty. In addition, she has performed a wide variety of modern works. The company has been expanding its activities with dancers from prestigious ballet companies such as the Paris Opera, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Royal Theater of Oman, and Oslo Opera House, and has high expectations for the future as an up-and-coming ballet company.
