Professor Mika Sasaki, a pianist based in New York, is not only internationally acclaimed as a soloist and chamber musician, but also teaches piano, keyboard studies, and chamber music at the Juilliard School at a young age. In conjunction with her visit to Japan, she will give a special public lesson. She will perform Brahms' "Piano Quintet Op. 34, 1st movement," Haydn's "Piano Trio Hob. XV:28, 2nd movement," and "Piano Trio Hob. XV:25 'Gipsy Rondo,' 1st movement," a masterpiece of chamber music.
Professor Sasaki is one of the instructors for the SOUP Chamber Music Program. This program is open to everyone, both professionals and amateurs, and pieces are selected according to technical level, with everyone working diligently to create music under the guidance of the instructor. This time, participants of the "Fall Semester 2025" will perform based on the results of their practice. Listening to lessons by a variety of players will bring new discoveries to both those who wish to deepen their chamber music experience and those who are just starting out. It will also be an opportunity for those who are involved in teaching chamber music to come into contact with foreign teaching methods.
