The 35th Matsudo Citizens' Concert
2025/12/21(su.) 13:30 Starting
Matsudo Mori no Hall 21 Main Hall (Chiba)
Official https://matsudo-cpo.info/
The Matsudo Citizens' Concert will present Verlec (Verdi's Requiem) for the first time in 10 years. Following last year's Motzleck (Requiem by Mozart), this piece, which is called one of the three great Requiems, is a very dramatic piece of music by an Italian composer. I am sure you have heard this melody in movies or on TV.
The first half of the program is Romeo and Juliet, a fantasy overture by P. Tchaikovsky. Inspired by Shakespeare's play, many composers have written songs of the same name, but Tchaikovsky's overture is a magnificent piece that will take you to a sweet world, as expected of Tchaikovsky.
The conductor will be Mr. Akihiro Nishiguchi, the same conductor as last year. He is an up-and-coming young conductor who has been very active, including chorus conducting at the Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival.
We hope you will come and enjoy a sweet and dramatic performance time with a chorus of over 100 members and an orchestra of over 70.
