Christmas Concert

Now that the world seems a little darker, at least for this night, we would like to light a small light in people's hearts - that is the idea behind this Christmas concert. The theme is "Waiting for the Light. The program will not consist of flashy scenes of famous songs, but rather will be a gentle hand-off of prayers, warmth, and hope for rebirth.
Performing will be Yunosuke Takahashi on piano, Eriko Iida on soprano, and Takuji Teraoka on erhu. The overlapping of voices and words, the singing spirit of the strings, and the deep shadows of the piano will create a sound like "gentle salvation" appropriate for the Christmas season. In addition, the guest clarinetist Sachina Miyagi will add a warm tone that goes beyond classical music.
The program will include a piece from Beethoven's last year (1821, three years before the first performance of the Ninth). The program will feature "Piano Sonata No. 31 in A-flat major, Op. 110," a masterpiece from Beethoven's last years (1821, three years before the premiere of the Ninth Symphony). This work, which moves from loneliness and anguish to quiet rebirth, is like a record of a heart moving toward a ray of light. The third and fourth pieces of "Christmas Tree ("Weihnachtsbaum")," in which Liszt depicts a Christmas scene, will give you a sense of purity and warmth that will bring you back to your childhood memories, rather than a showy scene. The duo performance of "Merry Christmas in the Battlefield" with erhu and the unique trio Tre Passi's "Asahi wa asareru Sekai wo Terasueri" and "O Holy Night" will also be performed, and the audience will be able to catch the feelings that are difficult to express in words through sound.
