Mariko Yumida Soprano Recital
~ Led by the song~!
2025/11/19(We.) 14:00 Starting
This is the ninth annual concert since 2017, hosted by YOU no Kai, and this year's concert is titled "Guided by Songs," and we hope that everyone will enjoy the deepening autumn.
First, we will start with "Prayer Songs" from various genres. The "Pavane for the Lamented Princess," Ravel's masterpiece for piano, will be performed in Vocalise this time.
Next will be a challenging a capella performance for the first time. All the pieces in this section will be performed by voice only.
Next is a piano solo by Ms. Yukiko Higashi, who will be providing gentle and attentive support for the recital. This time, instead of her favorite Chopin, she will play "Piano Suite," the original work of Mr. Ifukube. Last year, on the 110th anniversary of Akira Ifukube's birth, the "Akira Ifukube Memorial Museum" was opened in Tottori, and we both performed at the concert commemorating the opening. We were invited to Tottori on his birthday in May of this year, and we performed together for two days. It is a great pleasure for us to have Azuma-san perform the songs of Prof. Ifukube, who gave me a great opportunity to sing.
We will also be listening to one of Mr. Ifukube's masterpieces, "The Old Gilyaks' Minstrel Song". This song was composed soon after the war began, when he and Mr. Ken Hattori, a well-known folklorist, conducted a survey of the Nivkh tribe, a northern tribe.
The last song is "Japanese Song. The last song was "Japanese Songs," a collection of recent masterpieces. They are all familiar to the ear and appeal to the deepest part of the heart. We hope you will enjoy the beautiful melodies of these songs on each stage.
