This performance will feature a unique collaboration between the pipe organ and the satsuma-biwa of LIC Habikino, located in the ancient Japanese capital of Habikino. In the first half, Shinya Kubota narrates and plays along with Taku Hirata's expert sound as a player of the Tsuruta style of satsuma-biwa, exploring the encounter between Eastern and Western cultures through works by Marchand, Matter, and Escandes. In the second half, Kaoru Dobashi will play baroque keyboard masterpieces by Sorel, Sweelinck, Buxtehude, and Bach, allowing the audience to enjoy the harmony of the organ's diverse sounds and historical masterpieces.
