Augustin Dumay & Jonathan Fournel Duo Recital

Dumay was discovered by Karajan, and he has since attracted a great deal of attention. He was trained by MIRSITNEIN and GURUMIO, and has performed with many of the great masters of the 20th century, making him truly an "heir to a great tradition. His recordings with Piris (on Gramophone), including Brahms, are masterpieces that will remain in history.

Furnell was the winner of the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition in 2021. His performance at the competition, which also attracted attention when Keigo Mutsukawa and Tomoki Sakata won prizes, was full of poetic sentiment and intelligence, and foreshadowed a new era of classical music in which technique alone will no longer suffice.

Dumay and Fournel recorded "Mendelssohn: Violin Sonatas and Mollifications" in 2008, and have performed together many times. This time, they will perform three pieces from the mature period of Brahms' career, which are romantic yet deeply spiritual.
