Edogawa Philharmonic Orchestra 48th Regular Concert

Dr. Fujioka, who is active worldwide, will conduct us again this fall term. The first half of the concert will be Shostakovich's Symphony No. 6, a little-known but much-loved work by Fujioka. The first movement is sad and breathtakingly beautiful, while the second and third movements are energetic and exciting. The second half, "The Triangular Hat," a ballet by Falla, is a piece that the Edo Philharmonic wind players have long wanted to perform. The setting is Spain, where a deputy wearing a triangular hat (a symbol of authority) tries to seduce a beautiful miller's wife, but fails miserably at every attempt. The people watching him get very excited and dance merrily around. The people are so excited that they dance merrily around the stage. and Mr. Fujioka's "narration" are also included. This year's program will be a combination of Russian and Spanish music, with a strong sense of each country's atmosphere. We will do our best to make this a powerful and enjoyable concert.
