［Tanigawa Kensaku has performed reading and music concerts with his father, the poet Shuntaro Tanigawa, throughout Japan. ［He graduated from Kyoto City University of Arts, completed postgraduate studies at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music and the Graduate School of Lieder-Oratorio at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, and completed postgraduate studies at the Conservatorium of Music in Amsterdam. Lives and works in Amsterdam, and is active as a soloist for oratorio and opera mainly in Europe. She is a recipient of the 2009 Rohm Music Foundation Scholarship and a recipient of the Agency for Cultural Affairs Overseas Study Program for Emerging Artists. She has received the Kyoto City Special Encouragement Prize for Arts and Culture, the Shiga Prefecture Next Generation Culture Award, and the Gotoh Memorial Culture Award for Newcomers to Opera.
