In commemoration of the 1,300th anniversary of the founding of Hase-ji Temple, the head temple of Yamato Province, a space for prayer will be recreated in the Concert Hall of the Aichi Arts Center. The first part, "Rishu Samadhi Hokai," and the second part, "Daihannya Tenmyo-kai," will be chanted in a solemn shōmyō by the monks of Hase-ji Temple and the Toyoyama School of the Shingon Sect. The stage is hung with a large 16-meter painting scroll depicting the main image of the eleven-faced Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, and the audience can enjoy the sound of the shomyo, which conveys the origins of Buddhist vocal music.
