We are pleased to present German music for the depths of autumn.
Beethoven's Symphony No. 1 was written when he was 30 years old. While influenced by Mozart and other composers of the time, the work shows Beethoven's character at an early age. In contrast, Brahms' Symphony No. 1 was written at the age of 43, 20 years after its conception and completion. It is also known as "Beethoven's Tenth Symphony" because it is strongly influenced by Beethoven and has a melody similar to that of Symphony No. 9 "with Chorus. It is the most popular symphony among Brahms's symphonies because of its easy to understand "from dark to light" structure.
