Message from the organizer
There have been many attempts to arrange and perform Bach's masterpiece "Goltberg Variations" for harpsichord for a variety of instruments. However, it is doubtful whether these attempts were truly in accordance with Bach's intentions. What we hear now are arrangements by three masters who are deeply familiar with Bach and Baroque music, and performances using instruments and techniques of the style of the time. Bach himself may not have envisioned this kind of performance. He would have never heard it, much less played it. However, this is not a fictitious product of a fictitious tease, but the fruit of the rich imagination of musicians living today, three centuries after Bach, and what it could have been.
