L.v.B. Chamber Orchestra 56th Concert

The "9th" with 100 members of orchestra and chorus.
There will be new impressions and discoveries that only a chamber orchestra can provide.

We have been performing Beethoven's works for 20 years, so please look forward to our first performance of the "9th".

The image of the concert is "Ode to Joy" from "Beethoven Frieze," a work by Klimt.
Klimt created the 34-meter-long mural work as a synthesis of painting and music.
Although the work itself was thought to have been lost due to the outcry at the time of its publication, it was finally restored and reopened to the public in 1986, and can be considered one of Klimt's masterpieces in the modern age.

Each of the three murals is based on the music and theme of the Ninth, and also quotes from "Ode to Joy".

Plane 1 (1st movement)
Longing for happiness. The anguish of the weak.
The entreaties of the weak against the armed strong, the mercy and ambition in the hearts of the strong, which motivate the strong to resolve to fight for happiness.

Plane 2 (2nd movement)
Hostile forces. The giant Tupon, whom even the gods have lost in battle. The three Gorgons, his daughters. They are symbols of lust, licentiousness, lack of sobriety, and caustic worry. Mankind's longings and wishes fly over their heads.

Plane 3 (3rd and 4th movements)
The longing for happiness is soothed by poetry. Art leads us to an ideal state where we can find pure joy, pure happiness, and pure love.
Chorus of angels of paradise. Rejoice, O beautiful spark of the gods. This embrace to all the world.
