Schola Polyphonica Nagoya
3rd Concert: 500th Anniversary of Palestrina's Birth
2025/11/03(mo.) 15:00 Starting
Zuibosan "Shuhoin" Main Hall (Aichi)
Schola Polyphonica Nagoya's third concert commemorates the 500th anniversary of the birth of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (1525/26-1594), a master of Renaissance music. The performance is not based on modern revised scores, but on copies of manuscripts and printed scores from the 16th and 17th centuries. Since its formation, the group has been taught by Tetsuro Hanai, who teaches and conducts the Fons Floris Academy of Ancient Music and the vocal ensemble Capella, and aims to give performances that take into consideration the performance style and pronunciation of the time of composition.
