São Paulo Futuro" Concert to Commemorate 130th Anniversary of Friendship between Japan and Brazil

　To commemorate the 130th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Brazil, a special concert "Sao Paulo Futuro" by Japanese musician Jun Kanami will be held on Friday, August 29, from 18:00 local time at the Tochigi Kenjin Kaikan in Vila Mariana, Sao Paulo City. The event is sponsored by Tochigi Kenjin Kai, the cultural organization "Sinos na Floresta," and the Japanese American media "NIKKEYWEB.

　Mr. Kazami is a guitarist, vocalist, and composer who has been introducing the appeal of Brazilian music in Japan for many years, and his activities have contributed greatly to cultural exchange between the two countries. Well versed in samba and bossa nova, she attracts people of all ages with her delicate guitar playing and warm voice. In recent years, he has challenged the fusion of Japanese enka and Brazilian music, establishing his own unique musical world. Through her live performances and music productions, she has become a bridge for cultural exchange across national borders.

　At this year's performance, she will present a unique arrangement that incorporates Japanese enka songs in addition to samba and bossa nova, which are representative genres of Brazilian music. 　Special guests include shakuhachi player Shen Keomei Hibeiro and colonia singer Isa Toyota. The collaboration of Japanese instruments and Brazilian music is expected to expand the musical world with even greater variety and depth.
