Yuki Osaki Piano Recital - Tokyo Music Competition Winners Recital

Piano recital presented by Yuki Osaki, winner of the Tokyo Music Competition.

She studied in Salzburg, Austria, and began with two Mozart "Rondos," her specialty, followed by Schumann's "Kreisleriana" from the German Romanticism school, which deeply depicts the inner life of a human being.

The second half of the concert will feature Toru Takemitsu's "The Rain Tree: Sketch II in Memory of Olivier Messiaen," which depicts the beauty and wabi-sabi of nature, followed by "The Gaze of the Holy Spirit of Joy" from 20 Gazes of the Infant Jesus by Messiaen, a composer who greatly influenced Takemitsu, and will conclude with Ravel's "Gaspar de Nuit", the essence of French music. The program concludes with Ravel's "Gaspard de l'Oeil", the quintessence of French music.

The small hall of Tokyo Bunka Kaikan is the stage of the Tokyo Music Competition and the starting point of Yuki Osaki's life as a musician. In the intimate sound of the hall, you will be able to fully enjoy her signature transparent tone and the changes in color and expression of each work.

Yuki Osaki Profile

Born in Hiroshima City.
Second prize (highest prize) in the piano section of the 18th Tokyo Music Competition. Won the Special Gold Prize at the 4th Manhattan International Music Competition, chaired by pianist Ivo Pogorelich. He won the highest prize at the 5th Alcobassa International Chamber Music Competition (Portugal), and was also awarded the Portuguese Work Prize.
He has performed as a soloist with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Gunma Symphony Orchestra, Osaka Symphony Orchestra, Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra, and others.
In addition to giving regular solo recitals, he is also active in ensembles with string and wind players, and has developed a wide repertoire ranging from baroque to contemporary music.
He graduated from Hiroshima University Senior High School. After graduating from the Faculty of Music at Tokyo University of the Arts with the Acanthus Music Prize, the Geidai Clavier Prize, and the Doseikai Prize, he moved to Europe. She studied under Jacques Louvier and graduated from the Mozarteum University of Salzburg with a master's degree at the top of her class, and then completed the post-graduate program at the same university. He was an overseas trainee for emerging artists of the Agency for Cultural Affairs in 2020.
Currently, he is a part-time lecturer at Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music Piano Course and Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music High School of Music.
