The Waseda Chamber Orchestra is an amateur orchestra without a conductor, and its activities are based on the importance of ensemble among its members.
This year's concert is a fitting commemorative concert for the 30th anniversary of the founding of the orchestra, featuring the serene and mysterious "Fratres" that made Arvo Pärt famous, Haydn's masterpiece Symphony No. 104 "London" that foreshadowed his later years, and Hans von Bülow's "Beethoven's 10th Symphony," which is one of the most famous symphonies of all time. Brahms' Symphony No. 1, a milestone of symphonic music that Hans von Braun called "Beethoven's 10th symphony", will be performed.
