The 44th subscription concert of the Tokyo Universal Philharmonic Orchestra will feature Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 by the spirited pianist Fumiya Koido, who has overcome the Great East Japan Earthquake, under the refined baton of Kyu Matsuoka. The concerto opens with Barber's "Adagio for Strings," followed by Symphony No. 6 "Rural" in the second half, which depicts a lush natural scene in five movements.
