Marina Wako was born in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture in 2007. She won the first prize and the grand prix in the string section of the 20th Romanian International Music Competition. She was a semifinalist at the 13th Sibelius International Violin Competition. She won the First Prize and the Jury's Special Prize at the International Junior Music Competition Basel 2025. Winner of the 3rd Prize and the Iwatani Prize (Audience Prize) at the 91st Japan Music Competition. Grand Prize at the 1st Yokohama International Violin Competition. Awarded the IMA Music Prize at the Ishikawa Music Academy. Awarded the Grand Prize and the Runner-up Grand Prize in the Junior High School Division of the 24th Japan Performers' Competition.

She is a commissioned musician for the Toho Gakuen School of Music's string music department. She is also a part-time lecturer at the chamber music department of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. She has been an official accompanist at the Ishikawa Music Academy, Kirishima International Music Festival, etc. She is a member of NPO Hama no JACK.
