*Two sessions will be held on the same day at 12:00 and 15:00!

Located a 7-minute walk from Tokiwadaira Station on the Keisei Matsudo Line in Chiba Prefecture, Ohana Hall is a well-known music hall equipped with a Steinway B-211 piano and suitable for classical performances with its rich sound.
We have been secretly holding the noon piano concert series for several years as a way of returning the favor/sound to our hometown, Matsudo City, and will be announcing it in Concert Square in the future.

The theme we have chosen this time is "Children. As artists and performers as well as parents and educators, we have chosen pieces and suites that are easy to listen to but rich in musicality, written by composers with a variety of feelings toward their children.

Each of the pieces in the first half of the program is (in many ways) rarely heard in concert settings, including Thompson's rare variations never before published in Japan, the often forgotten masterpiece from the second part of Schumann's "Jugend Album," and the solo piano version of Faure's "Dolly" suite, well known in duet form.

The second half, Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker," is an excerpt from the complete work, including the pas de deux and the final waltz, which are not included in the concert suite (Op. 71a).
We will use several different arrangements, mainly the composer's version for solo piano, the Taneyev version that more faithfully summarizes the orchestral thickness, and the Pletnyov version that fully utilizes the piano technique.

Please feel free to enjoy.
