Rokumon Gakkoudan was formed in 1965 by alumni of the brass band club of Omori 6th Junior High School in Ota Ward, Tokyo. On June 10 of the same year, a general meeting and the first rehearsal were held, and since then the group has been active for more than half a century, mainly holding regular concerts once a year.

The group is particularly particular about marches, and has performed many hidden masterpieces that were premiered in Japan at its subscription concerts. Currently, a wide range of members, mainly working adults, enjoy performing.
