The event will feature a variety of performances with commentary by Takafumi Tanaka, editor-in-chief of Hogaku Journal, and Daisuke Kaminaga, shakuhachi player, as you enjoy the profound and dynamic sounds of tradition spun by taiko drum, flute, and dance.
The first performance will be the Hirosaki Neputa Band by the Tsugaru Fue Sato troupe and the Tokushima Awa Odori Dance by the Asuka-ren. Please enjoy these two festivals of stillness and movement.
A free workshop (from 4:30 p.m.) will be held exclusively for those who purchase a Neputa flute.
In the lobby, famous products from Tokushima and Hirosaki will be on sale, and local sake will be available for tasting for a fee!
