JOHIRO Music & Culture Forum Nan-Aoi Music Library 100th Anniversary Concert

It is very significant that this performance will be held at the former Tokyo Music School Sogakudo, where the pipe organ imported from England by Yorisada Tokugawa in the Taisho era (1912-1926) is installed, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Nan-Aoi Music Library of the Kishu Tokugawa family, the lord of music. The performance, which will be accompanied by a talk, will feature pieces with episodes related to the Tokugawa family and rare music scores selected from the collection, and will convey the fascination of music culture in the cradle of Western music and the "Nan-Aoi Music Library," which is attracting worldwide attention. The exhibition panels will also be on display, providing an opportunity to deeply enjoy the performance and commentary.

There will be a daytime performance on Friday, October 3 at 1:30 p.m. (same program).
