Hibiki Oya won the first prize in the high school division of the 77th All Japan Student Music Competition in Osaka, the third prize in the national competition, and the Suntory Art Foundation's Special Prize for Famous Instruments, and received the loan of a Tomaso Carcassi (1751). He was awarded the Second Grand Prize at the 26th Japan Performers' Competition, the First Prize in the string section for high school students, and the Mayor's Prize of Kobe, and was selected to perform with the orchestra. He also won the Grand Prize in the Strings B Division of the 30th Kobe International Music Competition and the Hyogo Prefecture Governor's Prize. Received many other awards. Performed with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. Participated in Project Q Chapters 21 and 22 as a member of the Lucheria Quartet. Attended Ozawa International Chamber Music Academy in Okushiga. Studied under Akiko Ikegawa and enrolled in the 3rd year of music course at Souai High School as a special scholarship student.
