Corelli "Violin Sonatas Op.5" Complete Works (Part 1)

All roads lead to Rome" is an old saying, but if you trace the origins of the violin music that developed in various European countries after the 18th century, you will surely find Corelli's presence there. For example, not only as the origin of the violin music school consisting of master-disciple relationships, but also in the compositional techniques and performance style of sonatas and concertos, he has been a very important and convincing presence behind the works of the Classical to Romantic periods since the 18th century.

Corelli honed his violin technique in Bologna, which was a treasure trove of string players, and under the patronage of a generous patron in Rome, he focused on compositional technique and was active with excellent colleagues and many pupils. His Sonata Op. 5, his only work for solo violin, is a masterpiece in which the charm of the work is concentrated in every note and neatly tuned.

In the 15 years since I chose this work for my master's thesis project, I have studied it from various aspects, and in the many times I have performed it, I have felt the happiness of being able to perform this work, which was written with a wonderful sense of balance and naturally brings out the pure singing spirit and narrative of the violin.

With the encouraging support of the two performers, who are both well versed in Italian music, we have planned a concert of all the pieces to bring them together for you.
