Naoya Otsuka Lecture-Concert No. 12 - The Bach Family Loves Flute! ~ Naoya Otsuka
Naoya Otsuka (positif organ, harpsichord) Kiyomi Suga (flauto traverso)
2025/07/06(su.) 14:00 Starting
Naoya Otsuka, a leading keyboard player of the Baroque period, has been approaching J.S. Bach's works from various angles and perspectives in the "Naoya Otsuka Lecture Concert.
For some reason, Bach and his sons all left many works for flute. The flute must have been a familiar instrument to the Bach family. We are pleased to present a program of mainly flute works, including solo works for keyboard, with guest artists such as Kiyomi Suga, a baroque flute virtuoso. We will also introduce various baroque flutes such as the flauto traverso and the Renaissance flute, and explore the charm of the flute loved by the Bach family.
The February 2026 performance, which can be combined with a special set ticket, will feature "Inventions and Sinfonias," a piece familiar to piano students. The guest is architect Hideyuki Nakayama. We will explore the similarities between "architecture and music" and take you to the world of "sound architecture" created by Bach.
Please join us for an in-depth exploration of Bach's music as we are lured by the sounds of ancient instruments.
