Grammy Award-winning pianist/composer/arranger Pablo Ziegler, who has been a renowned partner of Argentine tango revolutionary Astor Piazzolla for 10 years and is a leading figure in the succession and evolution of "Nuevo Tango," will visit Japan on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 Pablo Ziegler, a leading Grammy Award-winning pianist, composer, and arranger, will perform at the Koto-ku Bunka Center in Tokyo on August 27, 2025.

Since its formation in 2011, Ziegler's ensemble with Japanese members has been highly acclaimed both in Japan and abroad, and will celebrate its 15th anniversary in 2026. In this performance, the ensemble will interweave a repertoire of reconstructions of Piazzolla's masterpieces with Seigler's own original works to create a profound musical world that combines not only passion and melancholy but also urban bustle, the structural beauty of classical music, and the free dialogue of jazz.

The members of the ensemble are some of Japan's most talented artists. Satoshi Kitamura (bandoneon), Natsuki Kinugi (guitar), Toru Nishijima (double bass), and Tomohiro Yahiro (percussion). Under Seagrell's leadership, the musicianship of each member fuses to create a unique and distinctive sound. With a dense and powerful ensemble and outstanding solos by each member, the stage will be filled with a mixture of vibrant rhythms, passionate melodies, and improvisational expressions, creating a musical experience that will make you feel as if you were on the streets of Buenos Aires.

In addition, this year's performance will feature the first performance in Japan of the two-piano sextet composition that has been so well received in Argentina as a special program. Pianist Masae Shiwa, who has worked together in Brazil, Argentina, New York, Canada, and other countries, will join the orchestra for a musical dialogue that is as profound as an orchestra and as sensitive as ever.
