The Japan Association of Composers for Sumo Hearing Arts (JACSHA) and violinist Kazumi Senkuchi have teamed up to weave the taiko drumming and jinku (a type of Japanese folk dance) verses that are a part of sumo culture with western instruments such as violin, saxophone, and keyboard harmonica. The innovative program will include new works by Yukiyo Tsurumi, Makoto Nomura, and Tomoko Momiyama, as well as a piano duet and audience-participation pieces that will thrill the audience's senses.
