The Quartet you must hear now. The long-awaited complete works of Beethoven!
Quartet Integra, which won the second prize and the Audience Prize in the String Quartet Division of the ARD Munich International Music Competition, the world's most prestigious chamber music competition, is the first of a new generation of Japanese chamber music groups to emerge in recent years. Now they are making a global leap forward, and will start their long-awaited Beethoven Zycles at Philia Hall, where they made their first official stage appearance!
Their first appearance at Philia Hall was the memorable first performance of "Chamber Music for the Future" produced by their teacher, Nobuko Yamazaki (at that time, they performed as the former "Quartetto Toyotomi"), and their second performance (after winning a prize in Munich) about 7 years later, they did not perform Beethoven, and their first performance at the museum was in fact a Beethoven performance. This is actually the first time for them to perform Beethoven at our museum. How will they confront this great legacy that shines brilliantly in the history of string quartets?
What is most striking about the composition of all the pieces is that Beethoven's first and last completed works, No. 1 and No. 16, will be performed in combination for the first time. The Harp, a masterpiece of the middle period, will be combined with them. This programming alone is enough to give one a glimpse of the brilliance and thoughtful intention with which the Zycles will be executed. Dramatically expressive and sensitive, this is an unprecedented challenge from a quartet of the new era. Don't miss it!
