The Elde Opera Orchestra, an amateur orchestra, will take on the challenge of presenting Stravinsky's masterpiece mini-opera "Mavra" in its original language and concert format.
Koshi Moroyu's refined conducting and four soloists with rich personalities will weave a vividly innovative 25-minute performance of neoclassical music while humorously depicting a love disguise and family turmoil.
In addition to the wind ensemble works by Stravinsky, "Cat's Lullaby" and "Octet", this ambitious program also includes Poulenc's "Four Poems by Max Jacob" and Francais' "Merry Paris" for solo trumpet and wind septet, offering a variety of French and Russian works all in one concert! The Mavra will be performed with the original composition.
This is the first performance in Japan of Mavra with an original composition, and is sure to be a performance to watch out for. We hope you will come to the concert.
