Tokyo University of Agriculture OBOG Orchestra 16th Regular Concert

This 16th concert featured the well-known Tchaikovsky. The main program was his posthumous work, Symphony No. 6 "Pathetique," which is full of his unique style among his many symphonies. The music, which is a whirlwind of people's inner thoughts and emotions, draws both the player and the listener in. The first half of the piece is a fantasy, "Fate," and the second half, "Passion," and the third movement, "Passion," is a piece of music that is a bit more complex than the first two movements.

Fate" is a rarely performed piece. Although its work number is later than "Pathetique", it was composed before "Romeo and Juliet". The composer was concerned about the reputation of "Romeo and Juliet" at the time and kept it under wraps for a long time, but its style is full of Tchaikovsky's early and middle period style. The above-mentioned "Romeo and Juliet" is the third draft that is often performed, and its first draft has something in common with "Fate". The melody of this piece, which becomes a bit habitual after listening to it, and the repetitions, which are a bit dull, whisper to the listener, "Because it's fate. It's fate.
