West Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra 38th Subscription Concert
2025/06/29(su.) 14:00 Starting
Tact Home Komorebi GRAFARE Hall (Hoya Komorebi Hall) Main Hall (Tokyo)
This concert will feature Symphony No. 7, a masterpiece commissioned by the London Philharmonic Society, of which composer Dvořák was an honorary member, for the first time in 17 years.
We will also invite Kazushi Suzuki, principal bassoonist of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, to present a lovely little piece by Elgar and David, which will allow the audience to hear the bassoon in all its glory. The pre-program includes the overture to Verdi's opera "Evening Prayer in Sicily".
The conductor for this concert will be Masanori Saeki, a conductor with a deep knowledge of opera. This will be our first collaboration with the Nishi-Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, and we have been practicing with a positive attitude toward the wonderful expressive power that Mr. Saeki is aiming for.
The West Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra has brought the charm of classical music to many people through its musical activities rooted in the community. We are delighted to be able to share this special time with you again.
We all look forward to seeing you at the concert.
