Yuriko Sugihara will perform a new work for pipe organ composed especially for this concert.
The concert venue, Caritas Nuns of Jesus, will be open to the public for the first time, and the audience will be able to hear the warm sound of the Italian organ, Mascioni, which is the same organ used at Tokyo Cathedral.
The first half of the concert will feature organ solos on the theme of the various conflicts that arise in the human heart, and the second half will feature soprano, tenor, and baritone singers performing the Missa Brevis, which consists of the Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus, Benedictus, and Agnus Dei.
Catholics and non-Christians alike are invited to listen to the rich sounds of the pipe organ that will spread richly throughout the space.
At the beginning of the concert, there will be a short piece with Japanese lyrics to introduce the organ instruments!
