The Road to Beethoven

This concert will especially shed light on Beethoven's younger years, around 13 to 22 years old, and will be accompanied by the sound of Anton Walter (model 1795).

The Krums Sonata, written in E-flat major, the same key as the Eroica, is a rarely performed work from the age of 13, but it is a highly accomplished sonata in which one can sense that the soul of a hero was already in the boy's mind. In addition, we will perform the Variations, which he wrote for a woman in one night, and the Sonata Op. 2-2, which gives the audience a sense of the rock rhythm. Motoko Mabuchi, a soprano, will sing a song. The song "Adelaide," which is filled with young Beethoven's honest feelings and longing, will blend beautifully with the sweet sound of Walter's piano.
