Toshima City Orchestra The 99th Regular Concert

The Toshima City Orchestra will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2025.
For the 99th Subscription Concert, we have chosen Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 "Destiny," which was performed at the first Subscription Concert held on November 16, 1975 at Toshima Public Hall, as a suitable program for the anniversary year.
This piece needs no explanation, as it is the most famous piece of classical music and is regarded as one of Beethoven's greatest masterpieces.

In the second half of the concert, we will perform Bruckner's Symphony No. 5.
This work, which Bruckner himself described as "a masterpiece of counterpoint," has a scale reminiscent of a large temple, and can be said to be one of Bruckner's most complete symphonies.

Since Beethoven, many composers have left masterpieces of the "Fifth Symphony.
We hope you will enjoy the two symphonies No. 5, one from the early and the other from the late Romantic period.
