The Urawa Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 1986 as an amateur orchestra based in Urawa City (now Saitama City), and performs mainly at regular concerts twice a year.
The "Saitama City Chorus Urawa Association," which will perform together this time, is an organization of 33 choral groups active in Saitama City and Urawa, with a history of 60 years. This time, the "Urawa Chorus Urawa No. 9 2025" will sing the "Ninth" in high spirits with a chorus of 150 members, including participants from each choir as well as new participants recruited from the general public. We feel it is of great significance that the groups, which both bear the name "Urawa" and are active in the same region, will perform together. The Urawa Philharmonic has performed the "Ninth" seven times so far, but this time the scale of the joint performance will be larger than any of the past performances, and all the members are very much looking forward to practicing with the orchestra.
The opening piece of the program, Rossini's Overture to the Barber of Seville, is fresh and light, perfect for the season of fresh greenery. After the intermission, the group will perform Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.
Please enjoy these masterpieces of music history loved all over the world.
