Aurora Orchestra 33rd Regular Concert

2025/05/06(Tu.) 13:30 Starting

Muza Kawasaki Symphony Hall Music HallKanagawa

Official http://www.avrora.me/

The Aurora Orchestra was founded in 2009, and the first concert that marked the culmination of our activities was our 10th anniversary concert held in 2014. The concert was the culmination of the orchestra's early years, and we performed Rimsky=Korsakov's lavish symphonic suite "Scheherazade," which remains in the memories of the members who attended.
Eleven years have passed since then, and our orchestra, named after the ship "Aurora," continues its voyage on the ocean of music, adding new members as it goes. In 2025, we have decided to perform "Scheherazade," a piece that has become a treasured memory of our past, with our current colleagues. We hope that this tale of adventure on the endless ocean will become a new page in the story that the Aurora Orchestra will weave with its current members, and a new treasure that we will acquire together with our current friends.
In addition, as a sub-program suitable for "Scheherazade," a fantasy story depicting the Persian world of the Middle East, we have chosen two pieces of Russian music, also with a scent of the Orient, for this concert. One is "Fergana Holiday," which depicts a festival day in Fergana, a town in Uzbekistan on the Silk Road in deserted Central Asia, and the other is "Caucasian Landscape," which vividly depicts the songs and dances of the people of the Caucasus, a region with rugged mountains rising 5,000 meters above the sea level. We hope to present to you in music a grand picture scroll depicting the corridor of the Orient as seen from Europe in the 19th century, the Silk Road, the Caucasus, and the dream route to Persia.
May 6, 2025. We hope you will come and join us on this special day when the Aurora Orchestra will mark a new history in the season of fresh green leaves.
