This is the first time for conductor Yonezu to perform Schubert's Symphony No. 1 and Tchaikovsky's Suite No. 4, both of which are rarely performed.
Both pieces are rarely performed, but Schubert's fresh 16-year-old sensibility sparkled in these dazzling and enjoyable pieces. Although the players' stamina will be sapped, this is a piece that we hope you will listen to.
Tchaikovsky's Suite No. 4 is an arrangement by Tchaikovsky faithful to Mozart's original.
We cannot help but be impressed by Mozart's talent for earworms.
We are looking forward to the first joint performance of "Variations on a Rococo Theme" with cello soloist Yosuke Inda.

About Hikakan

We are a two-manual orchestra that has been active in Hikarigaoka since 1994.

We are not a large orchestra, but we value ensemble above all and try to listen to each other's sound and play together.

We practice with the aim of being as small but spicy as the pepper used in the orchestra's logo, while at the same time remembering to have fun.



Management

Since the first subscription concert in May 1994, the program and conductor have been decided by discussion and vote of all members.

The management of the orchestra is not left to any particular member, but is shared by all.




Performances

The basic compositions are based on two-orchestra music, and we actively take up classical and romantic music as well as modern and contemporary works by Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Ravel, Debussy, and others. We also challenge diverse instrumentation, such as the string ensembles of Tchaikovsky and Brahms, and Mozart's Concertantes.
