Wasserring Ver.8

　Wasserring is a composition group formed in 2009 by composers Emi Sasahara and Yosuke Takezawa. At the time, we were students in the composition department of Tokyo University of the Arts, and we started this group as a place to regularly present new works, and we have done everything from planning to holding concerts by ourselves. We have held 7 concerts and 1 workshop so far.
　Since the 3rd concert (2013), the group has organized concerts for specific instrumentation.
　This 8th concert will feature works by French composers E. Bozza, O. Messiaen, and P. Boulez.
We will study the techniques and metier of these three composers who lived in the transitional period of music, and also consider how we should compose and perform music in our modern age.
Wasserring" means "water pattern" in German. The goal of this concert is not only to present works, but also to provide an opportunity to "get to know" the works of composers who have lived through the ages.
　We also have a strong desire to respect the works of the past and to face our own compositions with humility.
　We hope that our thoughts will be conveyed to you like the spreading of a water pattern.
