Oshiage Bunko: The Dream of One Cooked Meal - Opera Gohan in a clay pot

This is an irregular event held at a small restaurant in Oshiage called "Oshiage Bunko" near Tokyo Skytree, where you can enjoy classical music discussion and live music while enjoying local sake and food.
The first event was held on February 25 and was so well received that it was rescheduled for April 10. The event will be held regularly in the future as it continues to build on its reputation as a city landmark event.

The owner, Takeshita Bunko, is well versed in various cultures such as classical music, traditional performing arts, calligraphy, paintings, antiques, and antiquarian books. He will cook and discuss music himself, and will also perform and accompany himself between the kitchen and the Stanway piano.

Singing will be Rie Koide, a soprano singer from her hometown of Sumida-ku, Tokyo. After graduating at the top of her class from the graduate school of Tokyo College of Music, she performed in Italy from 2009 to 2017. She has a reputation for her strong voice, which is rare among Japanese, and will move your heart if you hear it in front of you. She has returned to the Corona Disaster and is currently developing activities to make music more easily accessible in her hometown.


The climax of the meal is the takikomi-gohan (rice cooked with seasonal ingredients), which is cooked in an earthen pot at each table. The climax of the meal is the live performance of opera music during the 15 to 20 minutes it takes to cook the rice. It is literally a "one-cooked dream live.

In the afterglow of the excitement, the lid was opened and a sense of happiness from the earthen pot rice filled the hall. It was a night in Oshiage where everyone could feel the joy of a town with music.
