Tokai Baroque Project Chamber Music Series 2025 《Baroque》 3 sessions

This concert will be performed twice, at 14:00 or 19:00.
Please register for the performance of your choice.

The theme of the 3rd concert is "Friendly Competition.
Lebel and Francoeur are two of the leading composers of French Baroque music.
They were both appointed as music directors of the Royal Academy from 1744. They seem to have maintained a special friendship for a long time in the history of music in ancient and modern times, cooperating to overcome difficulties in management and co-composing 10 operas together.
It seems that it is not a simple matter to expand the program around the works of these two composers.
To begin with, the story is complicated because both Lebel and Francoeur were father and son musicians with the same name.
Also, the "viol," an essential instrument in French music of the time, will make an appearance. Please stay tuned.

Also, as last year, we will be accepting requests for a song.
We will select one of the songs from the submissions and perform it at the concert.
Please let us know the reason for your choice and any episodes you may have.
Please send your requests to Tokai Baroque Project at least two months before each performance🎵.
