Stefan Vladar, a world-renowned pianist and outstanding conductor and artist from Vienna, began playing the piano at the age of six and in 1973 entered the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna to study with Hans Petermanndel.
In 1985, he became the youngest winner of the 7th Beethoven International Piano Competition, and has performed in solo recitals and with the world's most prestigious orchestras.
He has also served as professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna since 1999, principal conductor of the Orchester Graz since 2002, and principal conductor of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra since 2008, and since 2019, general director of the Lübeck Opera, where he has been active internationally in the three main areas of conducting, performance, and education.
In this performance, you will have the opportunity to hear Beethoven and Schubert, the golden age of the Viennese School, performed by Stefan Vladar himself, a "native Viennese" who grew up in Vienna. This will be an extravagant evening that will truly embody the "Viennese sound" with its approach to the musical abyss and poetic expression.
