Percussion Ensemble "Potbelly" 42nd Concert

2025/03/23(su.) 14:00 Starting

Fukuoka City Minami Civic Center Cultural HallFukuoka

Since its formation, Potbelly has been holding concerts with the hope that more people will experience the appeal of percussion instruments. This year's program was another opportunity for the audience to fully appreciate the depth of the percussion instruments.
The main piece of this concert was the suite from the ballet music "Coppelia. This piece, composed by Leo Dreib, will be performed by a large percussion orchestra. The arrangement is by Mr. Satoshi Nagano, Potbelly's musical advisor, who will appear as conductor.
Other unique pieces will also be presented. The "Moon Poem Japanese Moon Song Medley" will feature familiar tunes. Following the "Disney Medley," which was well received at previous concerts, we asked percussionist Shinichiro Sekiya, who is active in Kyushu, to arrange the music. We are looking forward to taking you to the wonderful world of Mr. Sekiya's ideas. Ektal" is played by three marimba players and two percussionists, and you can feel the unique undulation of the melody. Battle for the Ground" is a piece with strong percussion rhythms and power. Intermezzo and Toccatina from 8 Concert Studies" is a piano piece by Kapustin, but this time it is arranged by Shinji Tsuzaki for keyboard. Fiesta Colores" is a trio of marimba, vibraphone, and percussion.
Please enjoy the world of percussion ensemble.
